In order to ensure faster and easier integration to EPİAŞ’s application APIs, “EPİAŞ Developer Portal” has become available for the use of all developers in October, 2017.

In addition to the API and technical documents of EPİAŞ Transparency Platform, APIs of other services are projected to be added to the EPİAŞ Developer Platform in the near future.

Institutions and developers that deliver integration solutions to EPİAŞ APIs, are able to integrate easier and faster to APIs by using this platform. The platform makes it possible to test the APIs before development, download the sample codes of the supported programming languages before development, and collect insights regarding the changes by testing different versions of APIs. By using the graphic screens provided by the platform, the users of the platform benefit from the ease of gathering information about the usage of respective APIs and have the opportunity of experiencing a development process with less problems.

By making it available for the use of API Developers, EPİAŞ aims to enable faster integration developments by presenting more detailed data of EPİAŞ APIs to API developers, inform all developers about the changes at the integration points and start the change at all the integrated developer institutions. Integration process is aimed to be open and smooth by submitting the interaction between these institutions and EPİAŞ to the stakeholders.

March 20, 2018, Transparency Platform Web Service will be started to be provided through EPİAŞ Developer Portal.

The information required to use EPİAŞ Developer Portal is given below.

In the current process, requests for access to EPİAS Transparency API are made by filling in the “EPİAŞ TRANSPARENCY PLATFORM WEB SERVICES TERMS & CONDITIONS”. Users who have access to the Portal will be able to use the tools and guides available on the Portal after they have made the “Create Account” button. Access to the EPİAŞ Developer Portal will be provided with the IP information included in the Terms & Conditions Document that have been submitted to EPİA until today; these specifications do not have to be sent back to EPIAŞ.

The delegation from Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) visited EPİAŞ on 20 December, 2017.

CEO of the IBEX Mr. Konstantin Konstantinov and 3 other executives from Market Operations Department visited EPİAŞ for meeting which General Manager of EPİAŞ also attend.

The meeting started at the early hours with the thank you speech by Mr. Konstantinov. He said that “After 2 year later this is our second visit to EPİAŞ. We are so happy to be here and your hospitality. I also invite you to at Sofia next year.

After Mr. Konstantinov, Mustafa Kayırıcı expressed his pleasure about Bulgarian guests and stated that this meeting will provide an instrument to develop the cooperation between two companies and added “We are willing to visit you in beautiful Sofia next year”.

EPİAŞ executives presented about background of the Turkish Power Sector, business activities of EPİAŞ and the location of EPİAŞ in the Sector.

Following the presentations, the Bulgarian authorities stated that there are no financial markets and they just operating day-ahead market from physical markets. They also mentioned that the volume of the day-ahead market is 20% and intraday market will be active in 2018. They stated that the software is outsourced which they already use. The installed power capacity is 11.000MW, which means that they meet 2.100MW of nuclear power.

The meeting was held to contribute to Bulgaria’s emerging energy market and to share knowledge and experience between the two companies, The authorities  from EPİAŞ gave information about the day-ahead and intraday markets which is operating by EPİAŞ and the natural gas market which planned to be active in 2018 will be followed by Over The Counter Markets and from Stock Exchange Istanbul (BİST) the authorities gave information about Energy Derivative Products.

19.12.2017 19.12.2017 21:28 Corporate EPİAŞ visited Pakistan Energy Market Operator

The delegation composed of Executive Board of Energy Exchange Istanbul (EPİAŞ) and Mr. Fatih Kölmek, The ‎Head of Organized Power Markets Group of ‎Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) visited Central Power Purchasing Authority (CPPA-G) on 12-17 December 2017 in Pakistan.

The delegation leading by General Manager of EPİAŞ Mr. Mustafa Kayırıcı have been several contacts in Pakistan.

Mr Aamer Ahmed Additional Secretary of  Ministry of Water and Power Government of Pakistan at express his pleasure about EPİAŞ and EMRA’s visit and mentioned that CPPA-G is willing to benefit from Turkey’s knowledge and experience of energy.

CPPA-G General Manager Abid Lodhi after expressing their satisfaction from the visit and emphasized that they wanted to further cooperation between the two countries he remind the Memorandum of Understanding signed by two companies.

Mustafa Kayırıcı, General Manager of EPİAŞ, stated that “We are returning to Pakistan today in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding, which is based on a mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between EPİAŞ and CPPA-G in August 2017. I hope that this meeting will be instrumental in bringing our relations further” . After this words Kayırıcı expressed that they are pleased by welcome and through the EPİAŞ they can share the experiences of Turkey to support Pakistan’s developing energy sector.

Fatih Kölmek, at his presentation informed the Pakistan delegation about activities of EMRA and how the electric prices determine in Turkey.

While Strategy Development Director of EPİAŞ Mr. Avni Çebi, present about the Structure of Turkish Power Sector and how the Transparency Platform of EPİAŞ works to the Pakistan commission. Market Operations Director Nezir Ay about the markets operating by EPİAŞ Day Ahead Market, Intraday Market and Balancing Market.

Murat Günsay, Information Technologies Infrastructure Manager of EPİAŞ presented about the infrastructure Works of EPİAŞ and emphasized that the software of the Day Ahead and Intraday Markets, which are currently used by EPİAŞ, was realized in-house with our own means.

The delegation composed of Amani Al Azzam, Jordan Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, and Mr. Ahmad Al-Zoubi, Secretary General of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) visited the EPİAŞ.

Avni Çebi, Director of Strategy Development of EPIAS made a presentation on the business activities of EPIAS.

After the presentation, Azzam has stated that Jordan has not settled the market structure in electricity sector yet and such as generation and transmission activities have realized within the Ministry.

Referring to Jordan’s 600 MW renewable, 4.000 MW installed power capacity, including 4.000 MW other energy sources, Azzam said, “Renewable investments will continue to increase. In addition, we will pass on a number of projects in the storage to remove the system imbalances caused by renewable energy. ”

 Amani Al Azzam: “As in Turkey, Jordan is depend on outsourced in energy. We procure a large part of our energy from natural gas conversion power plants. ”

Fatih Dönmez, Undersecretary of Turkish Republic Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Chairman of the Board of EPİAŞ stated his pleasure on visit and mentioned that we EPİAŞ is ready for cooperation.

Mustafa Kayırıcı, General Manager of EPIAS: ”In the meantime, we have a flexible and development-friendly working environment with Intra Day and Day Ahead Market software developed by our domestic resources, which has a useful interface design for market participants. ”  Kayırıcı stated that EPİAŞ is ready to share the savings in this subject with Jordan.

01.08.2017 01.08.2017 18:31 Corporate EPİAŞ signed a MoU with Pakistan Energy Market Operator company (CPPA-G)

As a result of the ongoing negotiations over more than a year between the Central Power Purchasing Authority (CPPA-G) and the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EPİAŞ), two companies came together for a training program organized by EPİAŞ to share energy market experiences.

In this training program,  historical development and the process of Turkey’s energy markets transition were transferred to (CPPA-G)  by experts from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR)  with regard to legislation and macro-strategies. Energy Markets Regulatory Authority, (EMRA), Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS), Turkish Electricity Trading and Contracting Company (TETAŞ) and EPİAŞ experts were also involved in the training program contributing to the current and historical situation of Turkish Energy Market and experiences related to legal arrangements, system operations, commercial and market operators from their perspective and their responsibilities.

MoU was signed between EPİAŞ and CPPA-G after the training program at the EPİAŞ headquarters in Istanbul. Turkish energy sector and EPİAŞ’s experience in energy markets will be shared with CPPA-G within the scope of this MoU.

EPİAŞ representatives, MENR, EMRA, TSO and TETAŞ experts, including CPPA-G CEO Abid Latif Lodhi and other delegates as well as EPİAŞ CEO Mustafa Kayırıcı, participated in the signing ceremony.

During the signing ceremony, CPPA-G CEO Abid Latif Lodhi commented, “We are examining the market structures of different countries as well as the example of Turkey with whom we have a long-standing brotherly relations and is one of the most prosperous markets that can be a model for us. We want to further promote collaboration between the two countries through this cooperation and sharing. ”

EPİAŞ CEO Mustafa Kayırıcı said: “There are very good relations between the two sister countries regarding many subjects. We were delighted to see that Turkey’s experience in Pakistan’s developing energy sector was transferred through EPIAS and that we host such an event. I would like the contract to be beneficial for both sides and I would like to extend my thanks to all contributors.”
