Ahmet T\u00dcRKO\u011eLU, CEO of EXIST made a presentation on T\u00fcrkiye’s Energy Markets at the “T\u00fcrkiye 2023 Summit” held for the 5th time by Turkuvaz Media Group – underlined that; according to the studies carried out by the International Energy Agency, T\u00fcrkiye’s power market is equally competitive with Europe in terms of offering competition at all levels.<\/p>\n
He stated that; our installed power – which was 27.9 GW in 2000 – has increased to 103.2 GW thanks to the right policies. Thus, our country has risen to 6th place in Europe and 14th place in the world.<\/p>\n
T\u00fcrko\u011flu: \u201cT\u00fcrkiye is in a much better position than many European countries in renewable energy. While renewable energy is produced at levels close to the European average; the amount of production is made from conventional sources are less than Europe.<\/p>\n
For example, in T\u00fcrkiye, the amount of power produced from coal is less than amount of power produced from coal in Germany. Also, the same comparison is valid for Natural Gas. In our country, the amount of power produced from natural gas is less than in Germany, France and Italy.<\/p>\n
T\u00fcrko\u011flu also emphasized the importance of the step taken by T\u00fcrkiye, which is one of the 5 countries in the G20 that does not produce power from nuclear energy.<\/p>\n
Reminding that even the gas trade volume occurring only within EXIST is more than the annual consumption of many countries in Europe; T\u00fcrko\u011flu emphasized the significance of the important steps taken in order to make T\u00fcrkiye an energy hub by increasing the storage capacity of T\u00fcrkiye -especially by the discovery of gas in Black Sea-.<\/p>\n
