Nigerian Minister of Finance said “We want to cooperate with EXIST on this journey by walking hand in hand.

An important cooperation agreement was signed between NBET (The Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading) company and EXIST at EXIST’s campus in Maslak. In the ceremony, which was attended by Nigerian Minister of Finance and also Chairman of NBET Ms. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, NBET CEO Nnaemeka Ewelukwa on behalf of NBET and EXIST CEO Ahmet Türkoğlu on behalf of EXIST.

At the ceremony attended by Nigerian Minister of Finance, NBET CEO and Board Members, EXIST CEO and senior management, a presentation was made by experts of EXIST on Turkish Energy Markets, markets and other activities of EXIST.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nigerian Finance Minister Ms. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed said “The point EXIST has reached is admirable. We also want to establish electricity markets by providing the necessary transformation in our country. We want to cooperate with you on this journey by walking hand in hand.”

Ahmet Türkoğlu, CEO of EXIST said “As EXIST, we are ready to cooperate with the friendly country Nigeria in the fields they need. Thank you for your interest in the activities of EXIST and for your visits.”

Cooperation agreement signed at the ceremony; It covers transfer of experience and business knowledge, field visits, workshops, trainings, designing the institutional structure of the Power Market planned to be established in Nigeria and providing technical support. The agreement aims to liberalize the current market in Nigeria.
