Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar: “We aim to further expand EPİAŞ’s activities, which began as the Energy Exchange.“
In his speech at the Atlantic Council’s Regional Conference on Clean and Secure Energy , Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated: “We aim to expand the scope of EPİAŞ, which was established as the Energy Exchange, into different areas. Specifically, we are targeting to make Turkey as a country that prices carbon through emissions trading by 2026. We intend to achieve this by establishing a carbon market within EPİAŞ. Furthermore, we plan to transform EPİAŞ, which will be relocated to the Istanbul Financial Center, into a commodity exchange.”
