The membership of the EPİAŞ (Energy Exchange Istanbul – EXIST) had been reconfirmed by the EUROPEX General Assembly after its provisional admission at the beginning of this year. According to another decision taken at the meeting, the General Assembly of EUROPEX will be held in Istanbul and hosted by EPİAŞ next year.

EUROPEX is a non-profit association of European Energy Exchanges with currently 26 members. It represents the interests of exchange-based wholesale electricity, gas and environmental markets, focuses on developments of the European regulatory framework for wholesale energy trading and provides a discussion platform at European level.

It provides consultancy services to its members in important areas such as sharing the market information, determining and implementing the market rules, establishment of communication with ENTSO-E and ENTSO-G. It also produces target oriented written resources offering them to its members.

Assumed an active role on many issues to affect the European Commission, ACER, ESMA, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and European Energy Markets, EUROPEX continues its activities with four working groups on subjects such as “Electricity Markets”, “Gas Markets”, “Financial Markets, Integrity and Transparency” and “Environmental Markets.”
